We are going to be doing jewelry making again!  I didn't put away the jewelry bits from last time yet, so why not!  I ordered more frames but if they don't come by Monday there are other ways to skin the cat.  Pin backs and triple thick.

We're going to be making Artists Trading Cards, Monday April 4

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a fast way to make art, flexing creative muscles and learning new skills.   They are fun to make.  Some people make them with trading them in mind and some keep theirs to themselves.

These are created with total abandon using my materials such as, markers, paints, collage bits, ribbon, fabric, buttons, stamps, stickers and whatever else I bring from my studio.

Come have fun.  I figure we will make at least 6 or maybe even a whole deck of cards each!

Monday, March 28 Floral Abstracts

We will be exploring abstraction from my still life of flowers.  I've been taking an online class from Lynn Whipple who does this technique very well.

Our approach will be a bit different due to a 3 hour time restraint.  As always I we lead your through the process.

I will be giving each artist a sheet of paper with 3 random images: a person, place and a thing.   (something like the above picture, each person gets a different set of images).  They are to create a visual story from it on paper.  All supplies supplied.

I figure this won't take too long.  So bring your own image of a pet or person or one of my images to create something yourself on canvas.

We took disparate images and combined them to create a story.  We each had main characters of our pets (or adopted animal image).  My 2 images were of a Victorian dressed woman and the other image was of 2 Weiner dogs.
