Today's students' work

I'm sorry I can't identify you by your work. I would like it if you placed a note to claim your piece. :)

If some of these look like duplicates, look again.  They were probable creted by the same artists.!!

Monday April 10, 2017 Color obsession

This week I have been pursuing videos by Bob Burridge.  Look him up - he is really great and generous with his free how- to videos.

Since we have been studying color combos, I thought it would be great to explore which colors work next to each other by paintg a simple coffee cup.  We will paint many.

Check out all those colors.
I just love them.

See you Monday at Windsor Hills Community church, 9:30.  I'll bring everything, as usual.

Color Theory Workshop results - abstract landscapes

On Monday we studied the subtle effects of justaposing certain colors together.  We did this by quickly painting (with our fingers) these multiple abstract landscapes.

Monday workshop, April 3, 2017 - Color Theory and applications

Color theory or color selection is an important process that can be learned.  Understanding how colors work together will simplify your decisions, give you confidence in your choices and make you a happier artist.

In this workshop we will be painting a number of small landscape paintings with different color combos so that you will begin to understand how colors work.
See you there!!

"Family Painter", Monday Feb. 6, 2017

This week we will be painting on photocopies of our family members.  I call it "The Family Paintover".

As always, I bring everything incuding my family photos.   However, you have the option of sending to me photos of your family via email or FB and I will print them out in black and white and bring them to class Monday morning.

Our objection is to take the photocopy and create a painting.

Here is simple photo of my mom walking - its a bad photo because she is way over to the side and it's in bad quality.  But no matter -  this particular painting I created using this very technique; it was juried into shows and won awards!!

Anyone can do this.
See you there.

P.S.  If you scroll down a few posts you will see the award I won for this painting.
